Met Office Forecast for South-West England
Issued: Monday 2nd June 2025 at 4:00 pm
Headline: Turning wet and windy overnight.
This Evening and Tonight: A fine evening, with plenty of sunshine ahead of dusk. Turning wet and windy overnight as a band of rain arrives from the west. The rain will prove locally heavy particularly across the hills and moors of Devon and Cornwall. Minimum Temperature 7C.
Tuesday: A cloudy start with rain continuing to clear eastwards during the morning. Turning brighter from the west with sunny spells and blustery showers following, these locally heavy. Maximum Temperature 19C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: Remaining changeable over the coming days with sunny spells and showers likely. A longer spell of rain for some on Thursday, before showers return on Friday. Near normal temperatures.
UK Outlook for Saturday 7 Jun 2025 to Monday 16 Jun 2025: The unsettled weather of previous days is expected to continue at least through the start of this period, with many - if not all - areas seeing showers or longer spells of rain, and occasionally strong winds. At first, wet weather may be focussed across the south of the UK but it looks like this focus will fairly quickly shift northwards during the first few days. Towards the middle of June, there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant, at least in the south. This would result in some longer periods of drier weather, although unsettled spells remain likely. Following a rather cool start to this period, there is a greater chance of warmer spells towards mid-June.
UK Outlook for Tuesday 17 Jun 2025 to Tuesday 1 Jul 2025: Changeable weather is most likely across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods, perhaps with a bias towards longer dry spells early in the period. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times especially across the south.
